The director of Five Feet Apart signs up to bring Hold Back The Stars to the screen.
A while back, it was revealed that the screen rights to Katie Khan’s excellent debut novel, Hold Back The Stars, had been snapped up. At one stage, John Boyega and Letitia Wright were to headline the science fiction love story, although it appears they’ve both since departed the project. But now there’s a fresh lease of life for the movie, with the news that a new director is on board.
Justin Baldoni, who helmed the excellent Five Feet Apart, has now signed on the dotted live to helm the movie, and he’s going to work from a screenplay that’s been penned by Christy Hall. Furthermore, Lionsgate is confirmed to be backing the project.
We’re not quite at the stage yet where we have fresh casting news for the movie, but expect progress on that shortly. Looking forward to this one. The book is a corker.
