Three more Warner Bros movies are postponed, with no new release dates yet announced.
As part of the Warner Bros reshuffle that’s seen Wonder Woman 84 move to a new release date in August, three more of the studio’s planned cinema releases have been postponed.
The first casualty of the Wonder Woman delay was James Wan’s new horror, Malignant. This had been due to launch on August 14th, but that’s the date the studio has now earmarked for its comic book blockbuster sequel. As such, Malignant now has moved, with no new date thus far announced.
The same applies to the animated movie Scoob!, that was due out in May, which has been delayed with no new date. In the US too, the film of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights has been pushed from its end of June bow, and awaits a new release date. In the case of that one, it wasn’t due in the UK until August, due to the Euro 2020 tournament that’s now not taking place until next year. Whether the UK release date for the film will still hold remains to be seen.
Expect a lot more release date shuffling ahead. The next biggies on the calendar that remain in place are Top Gun: Maverick and Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. You can bet that some videoconferences have been taking place, though…
