Lindsay Lohan finds love in Ireland in Netflix romantic comedy Irish Wish, and here’s the trailer for the film.

In recent years, Lindsay Lohan has carved out a niche in Netflix romcoms. After shooting to fame in films like Disney’s The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday and Tina Fey’s Mean Girls, there followed a well publicised period of instability after which she began the process of reviving her film career. Beginning with indie dramas like The Canyons, she then signed a deal with Netflix to produce and star in a series of films for the streaming service. It began with seasonal romcom Falling For Christmas, which was released in 2022.

Irish Wish is Lohan’s newest film produced under the deal, the synopsis reads as follows:

When the love of her life gets engaged to her best friend, Maddie (Lindsay Lohan) puts her feelings aside to be a bridesmaid at their wedding in Ireland. Days before the pair are set to marry, Maddie makes a spontaneous wish for true love, only to wake up as the bride-to-be. With her dream seeming to come true, Maddie soon realizes that her real soulmate is someone else entirely.

The cast also includes Ed Spleers, Alexander Vlahos, Jane Seymour, Elizabeth Tan and Ayesha Curry. Lohan’s younger brother Dakota.

Janeen Damian directed the film from a screenplay by Kristen Hansen.

The next film in the LCU, or the Lohan Cinematic Universe, will be Christmas romcom Our Little Secret, which is currently in production. The plot follows “two resentful exes as they are forced to spend Christmas under the same roof after discovering that their current partners are siblings”. Lohan will star alongside Kristin Chenoweth and Ian Harding. Stephen Herek will direct from a screenplay by Hailey DeDominicis.

Irish Wish will stream on Netflix from 15th March.
