Director James Mangold reveals that Indiana Jones 5 is pretty much finished – and shoots down those rumours of reshoots and a new ending.

There’s an ongoing cycle to the movie news reporting cycle at the moment. A story pops up on a website, it turns out not to be accurate, the director of film in question goes online to deny it, that becomes the story. And it’s happened again.

We didn’t report the original report, which suggested that reshooting work was ongoing on Indiana Jones & The Dial Of Destiny. It was said that there were new endings shot for the movie, as well as additional scenes. This though was all news to the director of the movie in question, James Mangold.

He’s taken to Twitter to shoot down the latest rumours, writing on his feed that “So I took a b-day break from trolls. But it seems I gotta once again say.. We’re not shooting & never shot any new scenes or “alt endings”. Our film is 99% finished, getting rated by MPAA & VFX being completed. Happy Holidays!”

He also added that he’s already started working towards his next film project, whatever that happens to be. With Indiana Jones 5 pretty much locked, he’s got a bit of time before the press tour begins, and hopefully he gets the chance to do one for the studio, one for him. Something else along the lines of Le Mans 66 would be very welcome.

Here’s Mangold’s Tweet…

Indiana Jones & The Dial Of Destiny is set for release in June 2023.
