It’s definite: now that Kermode & Mayo’s Film Review has come to an end on BBC Radio Five Alive, the flagship film programme will be reappearing in a new guise. Their BBC show has now ended after 21 years, and inevitably Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo couldn’t announce just what they were up to next until it had run its course. However, with BBC commitments fulfilled, they’ve made good on their increasingly unsubtle hints and announced they’re moving to a new podcast: Kermode & Mayo’s Take seems to be the title of it. We’re going to have to cope without them for a few weeks wittering about film though, as they’re going to be launching their new show in May. And there’s already a website where you can find out more. Not that there’s anything on it yet, but expect details to be filled in over the coming weeks. It’ll all be alright in the end. Now where do we send those WTF questions? UPDATE: We’ve had press blurb! The new podcast starts on Thursday 5th May, and will be twice weekly, “focusing on theatrical, streaming and physical film releases, as well as high-level global television in the UK and US”.
