Liam Neeson confirms he’s still involved in the planned new The Naked Gun film, and that it might just finish his career.

It’s been a little while now since news broke over Liam Neeson’s attachment to an unlikely reboot. Paramount has been noodling with the idea of a fresh The Naked Gun movie.

It’d be a brave man to step into the shoes of the late Leslie Nielsen as Lt Frank Drebin. For a while, Ed Helms was that man, with the plan in the early 2010s for a film that wouldn’t have gone down the spoof route. More recently, Liam Neeson was linked with the role – and it sounds like he’s going to do it.

He’s been back on the promotion circuit for his latest action thriller, Blacklight, that’s landing in US cinemas this weekend. And he confirmed to People that “I’ve been approached by Seth McFarlane and Paramount Studios to maybe resurrect the Naked Gun films”.

He added that “it’ll either finish my career or bring it in another direction. I honestly don’t know”.

We’re no clearer just when this one is likely to go before the cameras, but it’s a project that’s not going away. More as we hear it…
