Mallrats 2 adds Bruce Campbell to its cast

As Mallrats hits its 25th birthday, Kevin Smith confirms that he’s adding Bruce Campbell to the cast of the upcoming Mallrats 2. Kevin Smith is going to be a busy man once the lockdown is over, with two more films lined up in the View Askewniverse. He’s got Clerks 3 that’s finally set to happen, and then he’s also pressing ahead with Mallrats 2, that’s going by the name of Twilight Of The Mallrats. The mighty Bruce Campbell had expressed interest in taking a role in the movie when Smith confirmed he was set to make it back at the start of the year. And now, in a Twitter update, Smith has also now confirmed that Campbell will indeed be part of the film’s ensemble. Here’s the post, that Smith wrote as part of the film’s 25^th anniversary celebrations…

Using all of those names again as I write the unnecessary sequel, “Twilight of the Mallrats”! On page 75 right now, about to enter Act 3. It’s not clear of course when the movies will go before the camera, but expect one of Smith’s planned sequels to be filming not too soon after the lockdown ends.
