Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 won’t have a co-op mode as previously mooted; it’s a “single-player adventure” Insomniac says.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be single-player. That’s it. That’s the news story. Bye!
Oh wait – you probably want a bit more context than that. Here goes.
Last year, during the SacAnime Summer 2022 convention, Miles Morales actor Nadji Jeter hinted that a co-op mode might be a part of the web-slinging sequel. That the game stars both Peter Parker and Morales only added to the assumption that Spider-Man 2 might support a bit of two-player action to some degree.
In a single tweet (as picked up by Gamespot), Insomniac Games put that thinking to bed, however. “Nope!” the developer wrote, responding to a user’s question about a co-op mode. “It is an epic single player adventure!”
Nope! It is an epic single-player adventure!

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is due for release on PlayStation 5 at some point in the autumn. It’s possible that Sony will provide a more solid release date in its next PlayStation showcase, though, scheduled for 24 May.
