Wes Ball is set to continue the big screen Planet Of The Apes saga.

One of the 20th Century Fox franchises that new parent Disney is keen to pursue is the Planet Of The Apes saga. And whilst the director of the last two films – Matt Reeves – is now making The Batman for Warner Bros, it now looks like a key personnel choice for the next movie has been made.

Wes Ball, who directed the trilogy of Maze Runner movies, has reportedly been approached by Disney to continue the big screen Planet Of The Apes adventures. It’s unclear as to whether the next film will start over, or carry on from the events of War For The Planet Of The Apes. But what is clear is that another movie is coming.

Ball had been developing a film called Mouse Guard, that Fox was set to back to the tune of $170m. However, that was quickly culled by Disney when it took over the studio. That, at least, has freed his schedule up to put him in line for the next Apes film.
