Rik Mayall: Comedy Genius salutes the work of the late, great comedy hero.
The screen work of the late, great Rik Mayall was mainly on television rather than film, yet all of it is set to be celebrated in a new book from author Mark Searby.
We had the pleasure of publishing one of Mark’s articles in a previous issue of our magazine, and unbeknownst to us at the time, he was polishing off Rik Mayall: Comedy Genius.
It’s out today, and Searby has conducted over 30 interviews especially for it, including many of those who worked closely with Mayall. His Drop Dead Fred director Ate de Jong is on the list, along with The New Statesman writers and creators Laurence Mark and Maurice Gran, his Young Ones co-stars Nigel Planer and Alexei Sayle, and more.
The book is available for order now, and at the time of this post going live, you can order it on Kindle for a mere £1.97. Here’s the direct link.
