Director Doug Liman is heading to space for a future movie project – but it looks like he’s been off to Harrods first.

We’ve already heard that director Doug Liman is planning to go into actual space, beyond the reaches of the Earth’s atmosphere, to shoot an upcoming 2021 project with Tom Cruise. But his next project will see him voyage to an equally ratified destination: the ultra-posh department store, Harrods of London.

The exclusive location will be the backdrop for Lockdown, a pandemic heist thriller, directed by Liman and starring Anne Hathaway, with Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ben Stiller, Lily James, Stephen Merchant, Mark Gatiss and Jazmyn Simon set to feature also.

The script has been penned by Steven Knight, Peaky Blinders’ creator.

The Wrap is reporting that the film kicked off shooting this week on location in the department store under strict Covid-19 protocols. The entire project is on fast-track, with shooting expected to take just a couple of weeks, the entire project only being conceived a couple of months prior. If there’s one director out there that seems to thrive on juggling quick-moving elements in a fast-paced environment though, it’s undoubtedly Liman. It should make for quite an interesting film story one day, this one. More on Lockdown as we hear it.
