David Leitch, one of Nobody's producers, has stated his excitement at getting to work with the cast and crew again, despite no official announcement.
David Leitch is one of the producers of the action flick
Nobody and having directed
Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde and the upcoming
Bullet Train, he’s no slouch in the action department himself.
Nobody was a fun surprise when it launched last year, taking
John Wick-style action chops but transplanting the hangdog air of
Better Call Saul's Bob Odenkirk into the action, rather than a more conventional action hero.
It largely worked, a sequel was definitely on the cards and that now seems to have been confirmed by Leitch himself.
The filmmaker took to social media to state that he ‘can’t wait to create more chaos with this crazy crew’, also dropping a hashtag for
Nobody 2. Whilst that’s far from an official greenlight, we’d suspect that given the first film’s critical and commercial success and its clear potential as a franchise, it’s just a matter of time before we get that official confirmation.
Nobody was directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by Derek Kolstad. Star Bob Odenkirk credited the film with saving his life, stating that the heart attack he suffered whilst filming the latest season of
Better Call Saul didn’t kill him because of the shape he’d gotten into for
Nobody. If that isn’t a reason to make the sequel, we don’t know what is. We’ll let you know more as we hear it.
