Peter Rabbit 2 brought forward again in release schedules

After being put back to 2021, Sony now has moved the UK release of Peter Rabbit 2 to back before Christmas.

Following the decision to delay the release of the new James Bond film, No Time To Die, the second major studio movie to shift dates as the threat of Coronavirus loomed was Peter Rabbit 2. Easy to sniff at this one, but the first was a big money-maker for Sony Pictures, and much is expected of the sequel.

Sony originally shifted the film’s release back to the summer from its planned Easter opening, and then it got another shift into early 2021. Now, though, we see that the film has slipped back into 2020 in the UK at least.

The film now sits in a prime 11th December 2020 release slot, and is set to open opposite the Ryan Reynolds-headlined Free Guy as things stand. It’s part of an inevitably clustered end of year release schedule at the moment, although obviously things can chance pretty quickly.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more…
