Quentin Tarantino has said some words, and some people have disagreed with them, as modern movie discourse continues.
The clickbait machine was awash today with news that Quentin Tarantino has said something else about somebody else’s film. This surprise turn of events is thus far estimated to have generated approximately 237 articles around the world and counting.
The man certainly has form, too.
Oscar-winner Tarantino has admitted in the past that he watches lots of films and sometimes expresses opinions on them. In this particular instance, he watched a film and liked it, but other people did not. In fact, there had been some by-law passed that people were not to say nice things about this film. Quentin Tarantino did say nice things about it though. He seemed to like it.
This caused some consternation on the internet, where people usually amiably agree with each other. Quentin Tarantino got some criticism for liking said film that other people did not, and people had disagreed with him.
Quentin Tarantino has thus gone on some dick’s podcast and said some more things. He made the point on that podcast that he didn’t care that people had disagreed with him about the things that he said. He thus said some more things, and those things are now being turned into a further 412 stories around the internet.
The podcast host banked a further $19.58m for the episode, incidentally.
Looking ahead, there’s now a fundamental possibility that the people who disagreed with Quentin Tarantino, who Quentin Tarantino has now disagreed with, might disagree with Quentin Tarantino again. This would be uncharted territory for the internet, and it’s not entirely clear how the clickbait machine might react in such a scenario.
The film that Quentin Tarantino liked, but the internet didn’t, is now widely available for you to dislike too from several retailers.
Quentin Tarantino is reportedly now set to be watching more films.
