The first look at Zack Snyder’s ambitious follow-up to last year’s A Child Of Fire is full of action and a pleasing amount of Anthony Hopkins’ Jimmy. Watch the first Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver here.
The first trailer for Zack Snyder’s second Rebel Moon film, this time subtitled The Scargiver, has just appeared online, courtesy of Netflix.

Just last week, we asked if the world had already forgotten Snyder’s two-part cinematic event. Snyder himself has been promoting the films and even claimed that more people had watched Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child Of Fire than Barbie, 2023’s highest grossing film.
We’ll probably never know whether that’s true or not, but we do know The Scargiver is heading to Netflix next month.
The film, as showcased in the trailer, will pick up where Part One left off. Sofia Boutella’s Kora and her ragtag group of fellow fighters have headed back to their home planet of Veldt, but the Motherworld is inching closer and it looks like the villagers on Veldt will have learn how to fight.
There’s also a lot of Jimmy, the robot voiced by Sir Anthony Hopkins in the trailer. Jimmy was a fleeting presence in the first film, but in The Scargiver, we get to finally see the robot kicking some butt. We’re going to assume Hopkins only provides the voice rather than the motion capture for the character.

Boutella is joined by Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Doona Bae and Staz Nair are all returning for the second film. Snyder is, naturally, directing but also co-wrote the script with Kurt Johnstad and Shay Hatten.
Snyder envisioned Rebel Moon as a franchise starter, but Netflix is likely keen to see how the second part lands with critics and audiences before greenlighting any further instalments. We’re also still waiting for the promised Director’s Cut of both films, which should be bloodier and grittier than the previous versions.
We chatted to the first film’s cast last year and Nair, who plays Tarak promised us this about The Scargiver: “The second part is really where you get a deeper dive into the individuals, the hows, the whys, the intersections between characters and the worlds that they came from.”
Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver is dropping on Netflix 19th April.
