Nicolas Cage is Spider-Man: Noir in Spider-Noir, and the first teaser trailer has been released. Take a look at the TV show here.

Wherever he goes the wind follows. And the wind? It smells like rain. That’s how Nicolas Cage described his take on Spider-Man to the world when he debuted the character in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. It just one many classic lines from Cage’s hard-edged 1930s take on the wall crawler that proved to be so popular with fans, a live action series was eventually announced which is due next year.

And now we have a first look at Cage’s turn as Spider-Man Noir, in the show Spider-Noir.

This is the first time Nicolas Cage is portraying the character in live-action and, from the looks of it, the team behind the series have done an admirable job porting the animated character into three dimensions.

In a highly stylised noir thriller, Cage will play “an aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero” according to its synopsis.

Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot will act as co-showrunners for Spider-Noir as well as executive producers. Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal will be producing too. Noir will also be Cage’s first fictional TV series credit, although the actor has pointed to TV as a potential future direction given that he’s previously hinted at retirement from filmmaking in the not too distant future.

If you can’t wait that long for more Cage, you’re in luck. Or at least, we think it’s luck given that The Surfer launched last week in UK cinemas and gave our own James Harvey a panic attack. As for Spider-Noir, we’ll bring you more details as we hear it.

Here’s the trailer below.
