Stranger Things season 5 is hitting Netflix later this year and we finally know when we can return to Hawkins and the Upside Down.

We have been waiting literally years for the final season of Stranger Things. Season 4 premiered all the way back in 2022 and left us hungry for more. Will the youngsters of Hawkins, Indiana and Eleven defeat Vecna or will the world literally end?

Well, we finally know at least when we’ll find out. During Netflix’s Tudum event, cast members Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin and Finn Wolfhard presented a new trailer for Stranger Things season 5 that came with a release schedule for the final batch of episodes.

Take a look at the trailer below.

If you don’t like looking at trailers, here’s a recap of the release schedule.

Part 1, the first four episodes, will drop on 26th November. The next three episodes will be available on Boxing Day and the big finale will stream on New Years Eve. The episodes will be available 5pm Pacific Time, which means we get them the day after, in the middle of the night. But hey, what a way to start 2026!

Netflix is stretching out the final season as much as it can, but I suppose we should be grateful we’re getting the entire season this year (well, almost).

Here’s a synopsis:

The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown.

Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.

The trailer itself, then. Most of it seems to just be old footage from previous seasons, but Scnapps’ Will Byers does encourage us to run, clearly looking at something rather terrifying. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t curious to find out what it is.

We’ll keep you posted on more news about Stranger Things season 5.
