Paramount is already developing a sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem – alongside a streaming TV show.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have a colourful history on the big screen. The first film in 1990 ran afoul of UK censorship laws, due to a scene featuring nunchakus and forced to go under the moniker Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. The sequel, The Secret Of The Ooze, faced similar setbacks over a scene featuring nunchakus made of sausages.

The two most recent live action adaptations arrived in 2014 and 2016, produced by Michael Bay.

The new film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, was spearheaded by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

According to Variety, Brian Robbins, CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon, is so confident in their work he has already started developing a sequel.

Not only that, there are also plans to produce two seasons of a streaming television series utilising the same voice cast to act as a bridge between the two films.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is in cinemas from the 31st July.
