Terry Pratchett’s The Amazing Maurice to become a film

Discworld novel The Amazing Maurice And His Educated Rodents is being turned into a feature film, it’s been announced.

The work of the late, great Terry Pratchett continues to provide a rich seam of inspiration for film and television. And now we get the news that a feature ilm of The Amazing Maurice is on the way.

This one’s set to be an animated feature, an adaptation of The Amazing Maurice And His Educated Rodents. The Discworld book was published in 2001, and the film is to be directed by Toby Genkel and Florian Westermann.

Furthermore, the voice case has been announced. Emilia Clarke, Hugh Laurie, David Thewlis, Gemma Arterton, Himesh Patel and Hugh Bonneville are lending their tones to the feature.

Sky is putting funding into the film, that’s also being produced in conjunction with the production company of the Terry Pratchett estate. Furthermore, Ulysses Filmproduktion and Studio Rakete in Germany are partnering on the film, with Red Star Animation and Cantilever Media in the UK.

The plan is for the film to be released by Sky Cinema in 2022. More as we hear it.
