The four Airport disaster movies of the 1970s are heading to Blu-ray in January in the UK – more details right this way.
If you’re looking for a disastrous way to start 2021, then look no further than a quartet of famous disaster movies. The Airport series of films share the fact that they’re rarely on the list for in-flight movies, and they’ve also been tricky to get hold of on Blu-ray. Can’t do much about the former, but Final Cut Entertainment has certainly sorted the latter.
On January 25th 2021, it’ll release Airport, Airport 75, Airport 77 and The Concorde: Airport 79 in one boxset. Each comes with a starry cast, featuring names such as Burt Lancaster, Dean Martin, Robert Wagner, George Kennedy, Christopher Lee, Gloria Swanson, Charlton Heston, Linda Blair and a whole lot more. And whilst the series was effectively grounded after Airplane! came along at the start of the 1980s to basically rip the piss out of them all (one or two scenes in particular – the nun! – are hard to take seriously now), it’s easy to forget just what a popular series of films this was.
You can find out more information on the release and preorder a copy here. No news yet of any extra features, though.
