Jodie Comer and Hugh Jackman are filming The Death Of Robin Hood in Belfast, starting this week. More details on the film here.

Physical production is getting underway this week on The Death Of Robin Hood, a film that secured distribution backing at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. Some nine months on, cameras are being set up, and filming is taking place in Northern Ireland.

Jodie Comer and Hugh Jackman lead the cast of the movie, and it’s being written and directed by Michael Sarnoski. He previously brought to the screen the terrific Nicolas Cage-headlined Pig, and – more recently – steered A Quiet Place: Day One.

The Death Of Robin Hood is being distributed by A24 in the US, and True Brit Entertainment has snagged the rights in the UK. True Brit has previously released The Critic over here, and its next release is the Danny Dyer-headlined Marching Powder, due next month. Filming is taking place in Belfast, with the supporting cast including Bill Skarsgard, Noah Jupe and Murray Bartlett.

As for the plot of the film, it gives us a Robin Hood – as the title suggests – towards the back end of his life. He’s looking back at his years of crime, and wrestling with that. But he finds himself badly injured, and helped by a mysterious woman. It seems very clear where both Jodie Comer and Hugh Jackman will fit into that synopsis.

No word yet on a release date for The Death Of Robin Hood, but it’ll need to get a hell of a move on if we’re going to see it this year. Far more likely is this is one to add to the 2026 release lists, and we’ll update you as we hear more on it.

No word as of yet as to whether Bryan Adams will be providing a theme song for the film.
