For its 30th birthday, The Fugitive has enjoyed a 4K makeover, and is heading to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the UK this November.

Warner Bros Discovery might not be having quite the joyous 100th anniversary celebration year it was hoping for, Barbie aside, but on the plus side, there’s been a welcome procession of fine physical media releases. And there’s another one rolling up too, whose identity will come as no surprise to those who read headlines of articles.

It’s The Fugitive that’s getting a 4K makeover this time, for the 30th anniversary of the film itself. The movie, directed by Andrew Davis, won an Oscar for Tommy Lee Jones, and was also nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards too. Plus, for Harrison Ford, it allows him to sport some facial hair that’s going to look fantastic in 4K.

Still agree with the late Barry Norman, though: the film would have been even better if the two lead roles had been reversed.

Anyway, the 4K disc release. It’s set for November 20th 2023 in the UK, and there’s going to be a Blu-ray in the box as well, which suggests legacy special features are going to be carried over as well. There are some listed certainly, with this little lot included in the release…

Introduction by Director Andrew Davis and Harrison Ford

Commentary by Andrew Davis and Tommy Lee Jones

The Fugitive: Thrill of the Chase

2 Exciting Documentaries: Derailed: Anatomy of a Train Wreck and On the Run with The Fugitive

Theatrical Trailer

The disc is available for preorder now, and you can find it – and gleam further information – right here.

No plans that we know of to release the sort-of sequel, U.S. Marshals, on the 4K format too. Not that we’re detecting too much of a demand there, but we’ll let you know as we hear more…
