Jean-Claude Van Damme is the gardener who people want dead in The Gardener. More details on the 2025 film right here…
Go right back to the start of the year, and Jason Statham got things off to a rollicking start with The Beekeeper. In it, The Statham not only beat seven shades out of people, but also tended his hive and was your go-to man for fresh honey.
Now, Jean-Claude Van Damme is getting in on the act with Le Jardinier, which I will happily translate into English for you: The Gardener.
This is described as an action comedy, from director David Charhon. It shot last year, and Michael Youn, Nawell Madani, Kaaris, Matthias Quiviger, Jerrome Le Banner and Carla Paquin in its cast as well.
The plot? Well, it involves a bit of work around the back of the house. Van Damme is Leo, the gardener for a man called Serge. However, when they’re not trimming the bush and watering the daffodils, they also happen to be on a government death wish. Their quest? Not just a decent garden, but staying alive.

Charhon co-wrote the script with Vincent De Brus and Sebastien Fechner, and the movie begins its global roll-out in January 2025. We’re expecting a trailer to land shortly, but ahead of that, have the first poster for the movie. Note that the Photoshopping could use a bit of extra work, and that Van Damme brandishes garden shears in a bit of an odd way.
We await news of a British release with interest. And then, hopefully, Jason Statham can be lured back for The Beekeeper 2, ahead of an inevitable crossover movie between the two parties. Statham could put his hive in Van Damme’s garden, we all then get to watch all hell break loose. That’s the kind of cinematic universe the world is lacking.
More, as always, as we hear it.. For now, here’s that poster…
