The Phantom Of The Openās release date moves back, whilst Belfast ā from Kenneth Branagh ā will now be with us a little earlier.
A pair of acclaimed films from this year’s London Film Festival are both heading to UK cinemas over the coming months – however The Phantom Of The Open and Belfast have now both changed their release dates.
The Phantom Of The Open is a comedy about Maurice Flitcroft, a man who’d barely looked a golf course in his life, who found himself playing in the UK Open Golf Championships. The film has earned strong reviews, and had originally been due in cinemas from November 5th. However, Entertainment One, perhaps eyeing a bigger hit than originally thought, has moved it to April 2022. The film will now land on Friday April 15th.
Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast meanwhile is picking up awards season momentum. It’s getting its US release this month, but Universal had knocked the film back to February in the UK. Now it’s brought it forward again, and the movie will now be released on January 21st over here. Just over a month sooner than had been planned.
More release date jiggles as we get them…
