The big screen take on The Saint is back on, with Bridgertonās Rege-Jean Page the new Simon Templar.
The planned Hollywood big screen reboot of The Saint is back up and running, a year or so after it appeared to peter out a bit. Just before that disease that you might have heard of hit, the project was being set up for Dexter Fletcher to direct, with Chris Pine taking on the role of Simon Templar/The Saint in the new movie. Neither of those fine people are still involved, but now we learn that the breakout star of Netflix’s Bridgerton, Rege-Jean Page, will be taking on the role.
This is his highest profile movie part to date, and he’s set to work from a screenplay from Kwane Kwei-Armah, who’s been hired to come up with the film’s new screenplay.
No word yet on who’s going to direct the film, but Lorenzo di Bonaventura remains on board as producer along with Brad Krevoy. More news on the project as we hear it. Rege-Jean Page still has to finish filming the new Dungeons & Dragons movie first anyway…
