British road trip drama Black Dog, directed and co-written by George Jacques, premieres in October – here’s the trailer.

George Jaques won the Screen Star Of Tomorrow award in 2022. Now, the trailer has been revealed for his debut feature, Black Dog, which follows “two teenagers trying to cope with grief and loss while on a road trip north from the capital. It is inspired by Jaques’ own feelings of “alienation” when his friends all moved on to university and he was left “sweeping hair in a barbershop.”

Jaques directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with actor Jamie Flatters, who also stars in the film. Keenan Munn-Francis, Nicholas Pinnock, Ruby Stokes, Paul Kaye, Amrita Acharia and Hattie Morahan complete the cast.

Black Dog will receive its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in October, where it will be competing for the Sutherland Award. Independent Entertainment will handle UK sales, but a release date is yet to be confirmed.
