The culture clash comedy What’s Love Got To Do With It? stars Lily James and Emma Thompson, and here’s the first trailer.

It’s a clash of the cultures as we follow the not so straight path towards an arranged marriage in the brand new romcom What’s Love Got To Do With It?. Produced by Working Title, the official synopsis reads as follows:

How do you find lasting love in today’s world? For documentary-maker and dating app addict Zoe, swiping right has only delivered an endless stream of Mr Wrongs, to her eccentric mother Cath’s dismay. For Zoe’s childhood friend and neighbour Kaz, the answer is to follow his parents’ example and opt for an arranged (or “assisted”) marriage to a bright and beautiful bride from Pakistan.

As Zoe films his hopeful journey from London to Lahore to marry a stranger, chosen by his parents, she begins to wonder if she might have something to learn from a profoundly different approach to finding love.

Lily James headlines the film as Zoe, alongside Shazad Latif, Shabana Azmi, Emma Thompson, Asim Chaudhry and Sajal Ali.

It is the latest film from Elizabeth director Shekhar Kapur, from a screenplay by journalist Jemima Khan.

What’s Love Got To Do With It? will be released in UK cinemas on the 27th January 2023. Watch the trailer below…
