Eddie Murphy and Jonah Hill are headlining new comedy You People for Netflix, and here’s the trailer.

Eddie Murphy has had quite the career renaissance in the last few years. From his triumphant return to the movies in Dolomite Is My Name in 2019, which he followed up with the legacy sequel Coming 2 America, he will soon be reprising his iconic character in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, alongside returning co-stars Judge Reinhold, Paul Reiser and John Ashton.

Before that, though, he has another comedy project on his slate, in the form of You People.

The official synopsis for the Netflix-backed production reads as follows…

A couple falls in love and find themselves confronting societal expectations and generational differences amidst their families (Eddie Murphy, Nia Long, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, David Duchovny) clashing cultures, in this ensemble comedy.

The couple will be played by Jonah Hill and Lauren London, while their families will be made up of Murphy, Nia Long, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and David Duchovny. Rhea Perlman and Mike Epps are also in the cast.

Black-ish creator Kenya Barris directs from a script he co-wrote with Hill.

You People will be released on Netflix on the 27th January 2023.
