Gothic horror The Queen Mary heads to the UK in August, and the trailer for the movie has just landed.

While Disney’s The Haunted Mansion will be serving up family friendly frights this summer, The Queen Mary offers a grisly, gothic tale.

The synopsis reads as follows:

When photographers Erin (Alice Eve) and Patrick (Joel Fry) are brought aboard the ship with their young son Lukas (Lenny Rush), they unleash a series of events that entwines their family with the ship’s dark past.

As the terror unfolds around them they begin to realise there is more to this sumptuous ocean liner than meets the eye: its remarkable legacy masking violent secrets.  As Erin and Patrick uncover the haunted layers that the vast ship contains, it becomes increasingly clear that there is only one way out for them – to go even deeper.

Gary Shore, who has form in the genre, having helmed Dracula Untold, writes and directs.

Vertigo will release The Queen Mary in the UK on the 28th August.
