R.I.P.D 2: Rise of the Damned – a belated sequel to the underwhelming comic book movie – is released next month, and here’s the trailer.

Despite the disappointing box office and critical reception, R.I.P.D – the 2013 action comedy that teamed Jeff Bridges with a pre-Deadpool Ryan Reynolds as they solved crimes in the afterlife – now has a sequel. And it’s heading straight to digital services and disc shortly.
The synopsis for R.I.P.D 2: Rise of the Damned reads as follows:
Prequel to the 2013 comic book fantasy-actioner, set in the American West of 1876, chronicles how the ghost of dry-gulched lawman Roy Pulsipher, who is recruited by the afterlife avengers of the Rest in Peace Department. Roy’s bid to get back at his betrayers will have to keep, however, courtesy of an opened gateway to hell threatening demonic overrun of the prairie… and then the planet.
Jeffrey Donovan stars this time alongside Penelope Mitchell, Jake Choi, Richard Brake, and Kerry Knuppe.
Chick Fight director Paul Laydon directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Andrew Klein.
R.I.P.D 2: Rise of the Damned is released on DVD and Blu-Ray on the 15th November. Pre orders aren’t currently open, but you can find the Amazon page here.
