My Sailor, My Love tells the story of romance in the latter stages of life, and here’s the trailer for the film.
James Cosmo is an actor of tremendous power are versatility. As I always do whenever his name comes up, I recommend seeking out his astonishing performance in The Pyramid Texts, a ninety minute filmed monologue about a the laments of a former boxer.
My Sailor, My Love, however, will see Cosmo in a much lighter story. The official synopsis reads as follows…
A powerful romantic tale of a second chance at love and the power of redemption. When the right person comes along, anything can happen. After becoming concerned about her father Howard, Grace hires a caretaker in the form of Annie. As a result of his recluse nature, Howard initially rejects any help from Annie, but gradually the pair begin to bond, and Howard re-considers opening his heart to love and be loved once more.
Cosmo stars as Howard, alongside Catherine Walker as Grace and Brid Brennan as Annie.
Danish filmmaker Klaus Haro directs from a screenplay by Jimmy Karlsson and Kirsi Vikman.
My Sailor, My Love is set to be released in UK cinemas on the 10th March.
