Maria Bakalova and Asim Chaudhry headline wedding comedy The Honeymoon, and here’s the first trailer.
Maria Bakalova’s career has been on the ascendant since her scene stealing turn as Tutar in 2020’s Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm, recently also starring in Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. Asim Choudhry, too, has been gradually building a career on the big screen, with the success of People Just Do Nothing: Big In Japan.
Now, they’re teaming up for wedding comedy The Honeymoon, that’s heading our way later this year. And there’s not much year left.
The official synopsis for this one reads:
In this raunchy romantic comedy, Adam whisks his new bride Sarah to Venice for a honeymoon. But when Adam brings best friend Bav along for the ride, Bav causes one gross-out disaster after another. When charming gangster Giorgio falls for Sarah, he gets rid of Adam and Bav by sending them across the border on a drug-dealing mission. Can they outrun the Slovenian cops, dodge bullets from the baddies after them, and get back before Sarah gets a rich mobster boyfrien
Pico Alexander plays Adam, with Bakalova and Chaudhry as Sarah and Bav. Bakalova also produces.
Death At A Funeral scribe Dean Craig writes and directs.
The Honeymoon will be released on the 16th December, though the UK release date in unconfirmed, it will land on Amazon Prime Video.
