Catch your first glimpse of Daniel Radcliffe as the eccentric Weird Al Yankovic in the trailer for the forthcoming biopic.  The trailer has arrived for WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story, the latest movie to swell the ever-growing ranks of the music biopic. Yankovic is a multiple Grammy winner and is probably the US’s most widely-known performer when it comes to combining comedy with music. Growing up, this writer never tired of seeing his claymation music video for Jurassic Park, set to the tune of Richard Harris’ MacArthur Park, especially the bit where a clay dinosaur dismembered Arnold Schwarzenegger (also clay), a reference to Jurassic Park smashing the action star’s Last Action Hero in cinemas that summer. Daniel Radcliffe is set to play Yankovic with Evan Rachel Wood, Rainn Wilson, Toby Huss, Julianne Nicholson and Quinta Brunson all set to co-star. Yankovic himself co-penned the screenplay alongside Eric Appel, who also directs. In the US, the film is heading to the Roku streaming channel so hopefully the same is true of the UK. Our American friends can see the film from November 4th, and hopefully we’ll be able to do the same too. In the meantime, enjoy this fun trailer ahead of the movie’s release in a couple of months.
