The new film from Jeff Nichols arrives at the end of the year, and here’s the trailer for The Bikeriders, starring Tom Hardy.

One of the films firmly on our end of 2023 radar is Jeff Nichols’ The Bikeriders. It’s a promising film too for lots of reasons: it’s a new film from the director of the excellent Mud and the equally excellent Take Shelter; there’s an impressive ensemble cast, and we’re also looking forward to being bombarded with a melange of cool-looking motorbikes, leather jackets and just-the-right-kind-of-greasy hairstyles.

The film’s lead ensemble is made up of Tom Hardy, Austin Butler, Jodie Comer and Michael Shannon. Yes, it does feel like Christmas is coming early, doesn’t it? That’s especially true as the film is set to release on December 1st in the US although we don’t yet have a firm UK release date (we’d guess it’ll land around the same time, but don’t hold us to it).

The story is set ‘in the 1960s and follows Kathy, a strong-willed member of the Vandals who is married to a wild, reckless bike rider named Benny. She recounts the club’s evolution over the course of a decade from a group of local outsiders led by the strong Johnny to something more dangerous and sinister.’
