Twisters! They’re coming! The sequel to Twister is set for July of 2024, and has its director in place as well.

Anchor your cows, a sequel is now 100% confirmed for the 1996 windy flick, Twister. The original starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton, with Jan De Bont directing. It was also a reunion for Steven Spielberg and Michael Crichton as well after the first Jurassic Park film.

It made a lot of money.

Well, it’s taken some time, but the wind is back! As had been reported over the last week or two, Minari director Lee Isaac Chung had swept to the top of the pile of potential directors. His appointment is now definite, and with a helmer in place, the film has been given a release date as well.

Mark your diaries, then: July 19th 2024 is the date when the cunningly-titled Twisters will be blowing into cinemas. Mark L Smith – he of The Revenant – has penned the screenplay, but aside from some massive gusts, we don’t have any further casting information. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more on it. It’ll be a breath of fresh air.
