Uwe Bollās The Dark Knight is now Uwe Bollās Citizen Vigilante. It still stars Armie Hammer. A conversation with Warner Bros took place.
In a week of news revelations from around the planet, here’s one that’s going to leave you on the floor. Filmmaker Uwe Boll’s next film will not, after all, be going by the name of The Dark Knight. It’s a shocking turn in film history, and you may need to sit on a very secure stool to steady yourself.
Variety is reporting that following feedback from confused Batman fans, and also a conversation with Warner Bros, Uwe Boll is going with a different title. His next movie will now be called Citizen Vigilante. “We had a very friendly conversation with Warner Bros and decided to change our title to ‘Citizen Vigilante’ to avoid any confusion with Warners’ famous character,” Boll told the outlet.
Warner Bros had got in touch with Boll and his team to, er, ‘suggest’ changing the title, and producer Michael Roesch also noted that he’d had ‘feedback’ from articles, fans and comments about Uwe Boll’s The Dark Knight. As it’s not longer going to be called. He should call it Batgirl or Scoob: Holiday Haunt instead, as those are titles Warner Bros apparently has little need for.

Armie Hammer is taking the lead role in The D… Citizen Vigilante, which is expected to be released later this year. Physical production is complete, and the movie is now in post-production. Picture lock isn’t too far away. Then, perhaps, Boll could look towards the story of a teenager who feels like he’s an arachnid, or maybe someone who gets angry and turns green. Explore some fresh turf, if he can possibly come up with possible titles for the productions in question.
Christopher Nolan, incidentally, has no plans to make a film called Citizen Vigilante, we understand.
