Robin Wright’s first film behind the camera promises to tell a story of grief, loneliness and iron will – catch a glimpse here, ahead of its February release.
Throughout her impressive career, Robin Wright has always picked a range of interesting and diverse projects, playing wildly different characters in front of the camera – from the titular stereotypical maiden character of the Princess Bride in her 1987 debut, to the granite-faced, power-hungry Claire Underwood in House of Cards.
Now, the actor has moved behind the camera as well, in her directorial debut, Land, with the trailer arriving ahead of a planned February release.
Land tells the story of a bereaved woman seeks out a new life, off the grid in Wyoming. Wright also stars, alongside Oscar-nominated Damián Birchir who plays a hunter who comes to the aid of the grieving protagonist.
The film was shot in the Canadian wilderness in 2019. Focus Features is distributing and the film has its world premiere next month, ahead of its launch.
You can currently catch Wright in the Wonder Woman sequel and she’ll be appearing in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. In the meantime, whilst we wait for Land, you can view the trailer below.
