A new rumour links Will Smith with a fresh take on The A-Team – and we’ve got just a little bit of extra information on that.
A story popped up earlier this week about Disney – which now owns the rights to the show and future films – investigating the possibility of a new The A-Team movie. The story – which we spotted here, and appears to have come from here – reported that Will Smith (third along in the picture) was on the wishlist for a new film.
Ordinarily, it’s not the kind of rumour we’d run but, well, we’ve heard the same story from another (reliable) source.
There’s a small nuance to it. For from what we understand, there are indeed plans for a new The A-Team film, and Smith is indeed linked to it. But he’s listed as the ‘prototype’ for the kind of lead casting the project would aim for.
That’s a long way from him being made an offer for the film, and it’s not unusual for casting grids to suggest names for the kind of acting talent a studio is looking to attract to a movie. As it stands, the one part of the story that stands is that a new A-Team project is under consideration and development and Disney. For the minute though, that’s your lot.
We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
