With West Side Story heading out into the world, it’s been confirmed that Steven Spielberg’s The Fablemans will be with us in 2022.

Appreciating that his latest movie, the remake of West Side Story, has arrived a year later than originally planned (you know why…), Steven Spielberg has wasted little time getting his next project up and running.

This is the previously-unnamed coming of age film that’s loosely based around Spielberg’s own upbringing. We now know that it’s called The Fablemans, and the cast is led by Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Paul Dano and Gabriel LaBelle. Spielberg has co-written the script for this one (AI was the last time he was on credited screenplay duties), and he’s done so alongside Tony Kushner.

Universal will be distributing The Fablemans, and it’s announced a US release date of November 23rd 2022. We don’t have a UK release date as of yet, we’d expect it to there or thereabouts.

Exact plot details are being kept under wraps, but as we hear more about the film, we’ll let you know.
