Chris Pine hasn’t yet seen the script for the next Star Trek film, and doesn’t know what it’s about either.
It was last month that, out of the blue, Paramount Pictures announced a brand new
Star Trek film wasn’t just happening, but the plan was to film it later this year. This was a shock, not just to us on our side of the fence, but the cast of the last three films, who suddenly found themselves back in favour.
After all, there’d been no certainty that the likes of Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto and Simon Pegg would be back, what with talk of a Quentin Tarantino
Trek film, and a further reboot.

Chris Pine is currently promoting his new movie,
All The Old Knives, and Variety questioned him about the
Trek announcement, and at the messages that went between the cast when it was made. “I think everybody was like ‘did you hear about this’”, he laughed. “We’re usually the last people to find out, but I do know we’re all excited. Whenever they want to send us a script, we’re ready for it”.
That script hasn’t yet been received yet, and he admitted “I don’t know anything about it” when asked about the story. But he reaffirmed his love for
Star Trek, and his excitement at returning. It’s just at the moment, he might just know about as much as the rest of us.
