Disney’s latest animated film is arriving this November and it includes a lot of magic and talking animals. Watch the new trailer for Wish.
In a year that has been full of animation excellence, a new Disney animation feels like a warm hug. Thankfully, we’ve got one coming up.
Wish follows 17-year-old Asha, who makes one hell of a wish that has huge ramifications across the kingdom.

Well, that looks thoroughly lovely! It has all the things we’ve come to expect from a Disney animated film; a plucky heroine, a couple of talking animals, a villain voiced by someone famous… What more could you ask for really?
Ariana DeBose, who recently won Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars for her role in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story voices the film’s heroine, Asha. Asha lives in a kingdom where the king, King Magnifico (voiced by Chris Pine), is able to grant wishes. But as we see from the trailer, King Magnifico only grants a few wishes, which prompts Asha to make a wish so powerful, it causes chaos and mayhem across the kingdom.
Alan Tudyk also voices a friendly little goat, Valentino, who manages to locate a secret passage with his butt. I wish I had a goat like Valentino.
Wish is directed by Frozen co-director Chris Buck and Raya and the Last Dragon’s Fawn Veerasunthorn. Disney has always leaned on their usual whimsical style, but in a year where we’ve had films like Across the Spider-Verse, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem and Puss in Boots, all of which took bold, stylistic risks, will that be enough? Or is it time for Disney to reinvent their house style of animation?
Wish is in cinemas on 24 November.
