Do You Know Gaming? is an old-school dungeon crawler based around videogame-related trivia questions.
Lost in Cult, the publisher behind the Lock-On journals and books such as A Handheld History, has teamed up with the YouTube channel DidYouKnowGaming to produce a new card game.
Do You Know Gaming? has been inspired by old-school dungeon crawlers, and will see players testing their videogame knowledge in the āultimate Trivia Dungeonā.
āYou and up to three other Players choose from a selection of 18 colourful Player Characters, all of which possess different Health, Inventory Space and a unique Ability,ā explains the gameās website. āTogether you’ll encounter deadly creatures from a deck of 100 Monsters.ā
āIn order to inflict damage, you’ll take turns to ask each other trivia questions. The player in combat will select a question based on difficulty (easy, medium or hard), dealing damage respective to the question level.ā
The game includes 223 tarot-sized cards and 240 playing-sized cards in addition to a rulebook and counters. Plus thereās a deluxe edition styled like a PC game box from the 80s or 90s, where the game has been renamed as āQuizardryā after the long-running Wizardry series of RPGs. This version includes extras such as player mats, dice and pin badges.
The funding campaign for Do You Know Gaming? has already raised £13,000 of its £60,000 target in its first day, and the campaign will run until 16 January 2024. The standard edition is priced at £39.99, while the deluxe edition comes in at £99.99. But thereās also a āDesign Your Own Card Editionā for £249.99, where purchasers can work with artist Stephen Maurice Graham to create their very own card.
Incidentally, Stephen Maurice Graham was also the artist behind the brilliant Frasier Fantasy ā a mock-up of a Game Boy title about the 1990s sitcom Frasier that was recently made into an actual game.
