Deadpool & Wolverine comes not to praise 20th Century Fox’s X-Men movies but to bury them, and this week’s film quiz follows suit.
No franchise is truly reboot-proof these days, but the X-Men franchise had a good go. It had a good 20 years on the clock when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019, cutting more than 4,000 jobs while pumping money into the possibility of characters like Deadpool and Wolverine turning up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And hey, here they are – Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman star in this weekās new release Deadpool & Wolverine (read Mariaās review here). Huzzah for corporate hegemony, and hereās a quiz about those earlier X-Men movies.
While I’ve got you though – older quizzers may remember that we usually take a summer break around this time. And so, this will be the last quiz for a month or so, but Film Quiz Friday will return in September, by which time we’re sure the latest Marvel movie will have washed its face at the worldwide box office.
Once you’ve completed all three rounds, you’ll find a link to a separate post with the correct answers at the bottom of this post. As always, this is just for fun, but please let us know how you did in the comments (scores out of 30 this week!) and give us any other lovely feedback. Until next time ā have a great summer and, er, be the best there is at whatever it is you do.
