There’s a new trend amongst movie stars in these difficult times: positive messages, alongside animals! Here are some examples.
You don’t need me to tell you that the past few weeks have been tricky for the planet. That more and more of us are facing periods of isolation, and that there are likely to be a further few tricky weeks ahead at least.
We take solace, then, wherever we can. And one of the delights has been a trickle of movie stars taking to their social media accounts to post supportive messages. This post isn’t about those, though. Instead, this post is a collection of movie stars posting supportive messages, who happen to be accompanied by their pets. Or in one case, dressed as one.
Yep, just for a second, we appear to have turned into Buzzfeed or something. All in a good cause, though.
The one that really got things going was Arnold Schwarzenegger’s widely-shared post earlier in the week. He’s done a couple of these now, but this is the catalyst…

Arnie was not alone. Because now we’ve been introduced to Niblo.
Niblo is the cat of Oscar-winner Sir Anthony Hopkins, and it’s hard not to have your heart warmed by the love between the pair, and the quality of Hopkins’ knitwear…
Niblo is making sure I stay healthy and demands I entertain him in exchange… cats 🤷🏼♂ pic.twitter.com/5HgrdS2P9t

For Sam Neill, the duck is the creature of choice for his wise words. He reposted a message he originally sent on New Year’s Eve, that he felt would hit the mark now…
This seems strangely a little more timely now. And know this – there is light at the end of the tunnel . For now, be calm, be sensible, be kind and be safe . https://t.co/ThZp0ojUHW

Kevin Hart, meanwhile, over on Instagram has highlighted the extra time he now gets to spend with his pets. Meet Roxy and Rosco…
Elsewhere, Jeremy Renner, wants to show you his puppies…

Here’s Andrew Lloyd Webber offering to play songs with his cat…

Yet for animal messages thus far, this one from Judi Dench – posted by her daughter, Finty Williams, is going to take some beating…

You all stay safe, folks. And look after your animals too. x
