The directors of Talk To Me return with Bring Her Back, starring Sally Hawkins. Hereā€™s a disturbing trailer and new details:

A24 has released an array of fantastic horror films over the years, one of them being 2022ā€™s Talk To Me, Danny and Michael Philippou’s debut that featured a brilliantly ghoulish set-up: a cursed hand and a bunch of teenagers playing with it, blind to the doom that will surely follow.

Itā€™s no surprise that A24 signed up the Philippou brothers to work on a sequel to Talk To Me, but also for another original horror project called Bring Her Back. The latter is currently scheduled to arrive in cinemas on the 30th May 2025, having been shot in Adelaide last June and July.

The terrific Sally Hawkins stars, with Billy Barratt, Stephen Phillips, Sally-Anne Upton, Jonah Wren Phillips, Olga Miller, Mischa Heywood, Liam Damons, Alina Bellchambers all co-starring. It sees ā€œa brother and sister uncover a terrifying ritual at the secluded home of their new foster motherā€ according to a brief synopsis.

Mercifully, the teaser keeps other details shrouded in mystery, but there appears to be a found-footage element to the film that looks intriguing. Beyond that though, itā€™s simply disturbing ā€“ and this is only the reveal trailerā€¦

Talk To Me premiered at Sundance to an incredible buzz, and ultimately became A24’s second highest-grossing horror film ever, just behind Ari Aster’s Hereditary. Naturally, a sequel was quickly greenlit and titled Talk 2 Me. The Philippous will again direct, though when itā€™ll emerge is currently unknown.

One film they wonā€™t direct is the upcoming production of Street Fighter, having exited the videogame adaptation after scheduling conflicts arose with Bring Her Back. Kitao Sakurai, co-writer and director of Bad Trip, has been officially announced as their replacement, although weā€™ll probably always find ourselves wondering what a Philippou Brothers take on the iconic fighting game would have looked like.

Still, Bring Her Back is just a few months away, and in the meantime, you can see the reveal trailer for it below. Just consider turning the lights on first.
