Sky and HBO have unveiled the release date for The Last Of Us season 2 and the wait isn’t too long at all. Details below.
Fans of The Last Of Us, HBO’s adaptation of the videogame of the same name and its sequel, The Last Of Us Part II, have been waiting for news of when the hit series will return to the small screen. We already knew it would be in April, but HBO has finally put us out of our misery and given us a proper date.
The Last Of Us will officially premiere on 14th April in the UK. The US will get it on Sunday night, 13th April and UK viewers will be able to watch it in the middle of the night, usually about 2am, or wait for the usual 9pm slot on Sky Atlantic.
HBO and Sky have also released some new posters for the second season. All three posters have the words “Every path has a price” which sounds ominous. Fans of the second game will already know that the new season will delve into some pretty serious, heart-wrenching stuff. That price the posters refer to? Itās pretty high.
Here’s a very brief, official logline for the new season:
Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.

Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will reprise their roles as Joel and Ellie, and will be joined by Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Jeffrey Wright as Isaac and MCU’s new Falcon, Danny Ramirez, as Manny. Catherine O’Hara is also on board as a mystery character that’s been created for the TV show.
Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have previously said that the story of the second game will require multiple seasons to tell, and the series is now expected to run for four seasons in total. The Last Of Us has been a huge hit for HBO, winning multiple gongs, including Criticsā Choice Awards for Pascal and Ramsey. Critics have also been kind to the series, so if season 2 is anything like season 1, weāre in good hands.
The Last Of Us season 2 will premiere on Sky Atlantic and NOW on 14th April. Season 1 is streaming now.
