Paul Feig, Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick are all set to return for the sequel to A Simple Favour – and it’s all pointing towards a 2024 release too.

Last year, we held a live in conversation with Paul Feig podcast recording, where we went through his assorted films and chatted about each of them. One that got a particularly strong reaction in the room was the thrilled A Simple Favour, that brought together Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. You can find the recording magically below these words…

Feig was coy when asked about rumours of a possible sequel to the film, but didn’t shut them down. And now a fresh report suggests that the sequel is indeed pressing forward. It won’t be Lionsgate backing the movie this time, with Amazon and its mighty chequebook instead stepping in. But the key personnel remain the same.

Thus, Feig is set to direct again, working once more from a script by Jessica Sharzer. Laura Fischer will produce, whilst Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick are set to reprise their lead roles.

People and Yahoo are reporting that the plan now is for filming to begin this autumn on the new film, which would make it Feig’s next directorial project. None of this has been officially confirmed as of yet, but it’s now looking ever more likely.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more…
