Filming will begin on A Gift From Bob before the year is out.

A follow-up movie to 2016’s successful A Street Cat Named Bob is pressing ahead, with filming set to start later this year.

Based on the book by former Big Issue seller James Bowen, the first movie told the story of how a ginger cat came into the life of Bowen (played by Luke Treadaway in the film), and was a catalyst to him turning things around.

Bowen is now a successful author, and the next film is going to be called A Gift From Bob. This time it’ll focus on the last Christmas that Bowen spent on the streets, accompanied by his car.

There’s a change in director for the new movie. Roger Spottiswoode directed the first film, but Charles Martin Smith will be taking over for the sequel. Filming will be taking place in the UK starting in November. We’d imagine a release at the end of next year is likely.
