Sylvester Stallone has taken on boxing bouts, jungle wars and futuristic dystopias… but now it’s time for the retirement home.

Amazon Studios has announced that it is backing Never Too Old to Die, an action comedy that will feature Sylvester Stallone sending up his action hero credentials by situating him in a retirement home. The script has been penned by Brian Otting and focuses on ‘a mysterious murder within a retirement home for spies sparks a Cold War hero’s personal mission to find the assassin living among them.’

You have to admit, it does sound like fun, right? Stallone’s Balboa Productions is involved, with Deadline reporting that this project will mark the first of several that Stallone will be working on for Amazon as part of his multi-year deal with the studio. No director has yet been attached.

It hasn’t been revealed whether this will get a theatrical release as of yet, but we are hoping that Stallone gets out his little black book and we see a few tongue-in-cheek cameos from other action heroes of his era. We’ll bring you more details, including news on the film’s director, as we hear it.
