The next Andrew Lloyd Webber musical to stream for free is to be one of his lesser-known works: By Jeeves. The weekly programme of musicals that Andrew Lloyd Webber is making available for free during times of lockdown continues this week. And, as he teased back when he launched said programme, we’re at one of his commercial disappointments next. It’s his take on the Jeeves and Wooster story, in musical form, in the show By Jeeves. He put this one together in conjunction with writer and director Alan Ayckbourn, and the production we’re seeing on Friday sees Martin Jarvis in the role of Jeeves and John Scherer in the role of Wooster. As always, the show will go live at the special The Shows Must Go On YouTube channel. It starts at 7pm on Friday 8th May, and will be available entirely free of charge for 48 hours. The official synopsis reads as follows…. By Jeeves is the musical comedy by Alan Ayckbourn and Andrew Lloyd Webber based on the characters of P.G. Woodhouse. An adventure of the hapless Bertie Wooster (played by John Scherer), a young gentleman about town with a penchant for getting himself into personal difficulties, particularly with women. It is inevitably left to his unflappable manservant Jeeves (played by Martin Jarvis) to provide tify and elegant rescues. Enjoy this outrageous comedy as Jeeves guides Bertie through a series of hapless adventures and improvised chaos. A show that has to be seen to be believed! And the YouTube channel can be found here. — Thank you for visiting! If you’d like to support our attempts to make a non-clickbaity movie website: Follow Film Stories on Twitter here, and on Facebook here.
